The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Education Fund (New Jersey LCVEF), is the leading political voice for the environment in the Garden State.  We currently seek a Campaigns Director to oversee our public education campaign efforts and volunteer activist program.  The Campaigns Director will coordinate our many initiatives and state-wide organizing efforts.  This individual must be able to work independently, as well as with a dynamic management team and committed Board of Directors to maximize outcomes.

•    Oversee the design and implementation of field campaign plans and the use of campaign resources including staff, grassroots leadership, messaging, coalition engagement, opinion research, and paid and earned media.
•    Develop and implement new campaign plans and run our existing clean energy, offshore wind, community solar, fossil fuels, democracy, stormwater, and watershed campaigns and initiatives. 
•    Ensure all campaign theories of change, goals, strategies, and tactics are centering racial justice and equity, and further an inclusive organizational culture.
•    Foster transformational partnerships with environmental, economic, and racial justice organizations, ensuring that stories, voices, and the vision of our grassroots base, particularly communities of color, are central to our theory of change, and that New Jersey LCVEF is seen as an agent of change.
•    Ensure there is a detailed collection of data and conduct data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of programs in achieving goals.
•    Oversee and drive significant growth in our volunteer activism program through volunteer recruitment and cultivation, trainings, phone outreach, and in-person educational activities.
•    Supervise organizers’ and managers’ day to day activities.
•    Develop systems, tools, and structures that provide strong clarity, accountability, and direction for campaign implementation and organizers’ activities. 
•    Participate as a member of our managerial team(s), helping to identify organizational challenges and develop solutions that maximize strengths and opportunities.
•    Collaborate as appropriate with senior staff and across all New Jersey LCVEF departments to ensure collective programs, communications, and educational initiatives are strategically aligned, planned and executed; and achieve relevant campaign, program, and organizational goals and objectives.
•    Assist in the preparation of reports and materials for donor and board meetings, in grant review and applications, and in the overall process for raising resources to support initiatives.
•    Ensure timely and accurate compliance and reporting on all campaign activities and conduct activities in a manner consistent with all State and Federal regulations.
•    Participate on Political Action and Independent Expenditures committees as needed and assigned.
•    Other duties as assigned.

•    Significant experience in strategic planning and program evaluation; issues-related campaigning, particularly with organizing teams and grassroots base; issues advocacy programs; lobbying, and earned and paid media required. 
•    Demonstrated experience drafting and implementing campaign plans that reflect a commitment to racial justice and equity, elevating the voices and leadership of people of color, and development of authentic relationships with organizational partners. 
•    Experience working with state and/or local level campaigns, organizations, and multiple coalition partners preferred. 
•    Familiarity with climate policy and experience in the environmental and racial justice movement strongly preferred.
•    Successful direct supervisory experience, with formal organizing training (New Organizing Institute, Green Corps, etc.) a plus.
•    Commitment to environmental conservation.

•    Working knowledge of utilization of public opinion research 
•    Very strong organizational and implementation skills, with particular attention to details
•    Budget development and management
•    Strong written and oral communication skills
•    Working knowledge of Voter Activation Network (VAN) and Catalist preferred

Position Requirements: This is a full-time position based in Hamilton, NJ with some field work required. Must have reliable transportation and able to maintain a flexible schedule common to campaigns work. Must be able to provide proof of full vaccination, as defined by the CDC, against the COVID-19 virus and its variants.

Salary & Benefits: A salary range between $75,000 - $90,000 will be commensurate with experience; a generous benefits package is offered.
