Assemblyman Raj Mukherji

Assemblyman Raj Muhkerji is running for reelection to the New Jersey State Assembly, representing District 33, which covers municipalities in Hudson County.

Assemblyman Mukherji is a lawyer, healthcare entrepreneur, former Deputy Mayor of Jersey City, and former Sergeant in the Marines. Previously, he was an information technology CEO; municipal prosecutor; and Adjunct Professor at New Jersey City University, where he taught Constitutional Law.

As the Vice Chair of the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities, Assemblyman Mukherji is the only former Marine in the Assembly, and the first Indian-Bengali state legislator in the United States. He was named “New Jersey’s most prolific lawmaker” of 2016 and 2017 by POLITICO.

During his time in the legislature, Mukherji has been a champion of New Jersey’s effort to remain within the Paris Climate Agreement, supportive of drastically reducing carbon emissions by 2050 and of major investments in infrastructure that will help create new jobs and assure a safe and clean environment for generations to come. He has also been recognized for his efforts in protecting Liberty State Park and in standing up to the NJ Transit Power Plant in Kearny, NJ.

We are proud to endorse Assemblyman Raj Muhkerji in the 33rd District, and we urge you to vote for him.
