Robert Gordon

Senator Robert Gordon (D) has represented the 38th district in the Senate since 2008 and is running for re-election. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Williams College, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves as a Majority Conference Leader, and from 2012 to 2013 served as a Democratic Conference Chair. Gordon is the Vice-Chair of the Transportation Committee and serves on the Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens. 

Senator Gordon has been a leader in drafting legislation to ban fracking in the state, increasing funding for Blue Acres acquisition, and authorizing the financing of critical water infrastructure projects. Recently he has also sponsored legislation to improve the safety of oil trains, increase renewable energy sources, and promote the Delaware Bay as a World Heritage Site. Senator Gordon scored a 89% on New Jersey LCV’s 2017 Environmental Scorecard.
