Craig Coughlin

Craig Coughlin first joined the Assembly in 2010 and currently represents Legislative District 19, which includes the municipalities of Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy, and Woodbridge. Assemblyman Coughlin became the 171st Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly in January of 2018 and has presided over two of the most environmentally productive legislative sessions for the lower chamber in New Jersey history and passed of the boldest climate and justice actions in the country.

Assemblyman Coughlin is currently a partner at the Rainone Coughlin Minchello Law Firm. Previously, he served his community as Township of Edison Municipal Court Judge from 2005-2009, South Amboy Councilman from 1987-1993, and as a member South Amboy Board of Education from 1983-1987. During his time as an Assemblyman, Craig Coughlin has demonstrated his commitment and passion for raising money for his district’s food banks and soup kitchens.
