Assemblywoman Annette Quijano
Assemblywoman Annette Quijano is running for reelection to the New Jersey State Assembly, representing District 20, which covers municipalities such as Elizabeth and Union.
Assemblywoman Quijano was elected to the General Assembly in 2008 and is currently the Majority Conference Leader. She sits on the Commerce and Economic Development, Consumer Affairs, and Education Committees. She is also a member of numerous organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the NJ State Bar Association, and the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey, in addition to being a Red Cross Volunteer and an Honorary Girl Scout.
Assemblywoman Quijano has been very active in Elizabeth, an environmental justice community located in between major industrial centers and transportation hubs. She worked with constituents, scientists, and the DEP to reroute trucks that were causing asthma and other health issues in children that live in the community.
