Assemblywoman Linda Carter

Assemblywoman Linda Carter is running for reelection to the New Jersey State Assembly, representing District 22, which covers municipalities such as Elizabeth and Union. 

Assemblywoman Carter has served locally for nearly two decades as a member of the Plainfield City Council and as a member of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. As a three-term member of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Linda Carter has served on a host of committees — including the County’s Fiscal Committee which oversaw a half a billion-dollar budget, the Homeland Security Committee, and the Shared Services Committee. She also served as Vice-Chairman of the Freeholder Board and became the first African American female to serve as Chairman of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Assemblywoman Carter is also a member of the New Jersey Board of Realtors. As an educator serving in the New Jersey General Assembly, Linda Carter is proud to advance and protect the rights, benefits and interest of educators across this state and to promote a quality system of public education for all students.
