Assemblywoman Mila Jasey

Assemblywoman Mila Jasey was elected in 2007 to represent the New Jersey General Assembly’s 27th Legislative District, which includes municipalities such as Maplewood, Madison, and West Orange.

Prior to joining the state legislature, Assemblywoman Jasey served as a member of the South Orange/Maplewood Board of Education for three terms, including two years as President. She is a former public health nurse and has also been a leader in the fight to stop the Pilgrim Pipeline. Some of her major goals are to make sure that our air quality and drinking water are safe, that we preserve open space, and that remediation settlement funds are dedicated to cleaning up impacted sites. She is a co-sponsor of the landmark Clean Renewable Energy Bill, which catalyzed our nation’s leading offshore wind program, mandated aggressive annual energy efficiency targets, and expanded access to clean energy through a community solar pilot program. She was also co-sponsor of the Clean Stormwater and Flood Reduction Act.

Assemblywoman Jasey serves as Chair of the Higher Education Committee, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on the Public Schools amongst others.

We are proud to endorse Assemblywoman Jasey in the 27th District, and we urge you to vote for her on November 5th.
