Assemblyman Joseph A. Lagana (D) has represented the 38th district since 2014 after serving as the President of the Borough of Paramus Council. Lagana serves as Deputy Parliamentarian of the Assembly and is the Vice-Chair of Appropriations. Assemblyman Lagana received a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University in History, and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Assemblymen Lagana has often fought for the environment, including urging New Jersey to rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and supporting a number of proposals to increase investments in clean energy. He scored a 95% on New Jersey LCV's 2017 Scorecard.
