Michael Ruger

Michael Ruger is running for reelection for Hopewell Township Committee, located in Mercer County. Michael first elected to the township committee in 2017 and has served for the last three years as the Deputy Mayor. He is the Township liaison to the Environmental Commission and the Open Space Advisory Committee. During Deputy Mayor Ruger’s time in office, Hopewell fought the disastrous PennEast Pipeline, preserved hundreds of acres of open space, won New Jersey's Soar Challenge, and has pushed for polices such as a ban on single-use plastic bags and better stormwater management.
