New Jersey LCV is the statewide political voice for the environment. We advocate for policies and pass laws to protect clean air, safeguard clean water, and ensure equitable access to preserved open spaces and parks. We amplify voices of underserved communities who often bear the brunt of environmental harm. We have a great internship opportunity for a high-energy, multi-talented student who is looking for a chance to experience a lot of different aspects of non-profit management and operations. The ideal candidate can not only multi-task but enjoys it most when they are able to do a variety of activities and learn about diverse aspects of a job. In this role, you will have a rare chance to see the behind-the-scenes workings of everything from policy and organizing to development events and human resources support - and do it at an exciting, energetic organization that is making a real difference in the environmental arena and for all New Jersey residents.
Term of Internship: This is a part-time paid position from January – June 2027.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Spearhead outreach and organization of our annual Gala silent auction prize prospects, donors, and recipients
- Assist development team on donor cultivation strategies, including acknowledgement and thank you letters, and thank you notes
- Assist the policy team with maintaining and updating our “legislative scorecard”
- Conduct research/analysis on legislation, policy issues and proposals, and state budgets for the Policy team
- Attend policy team meetings and provide meeting notes, summaries, and follow-up support as needed
- Support Human Resources / Operations with administrative projects, staff milestone acknowledgements, and provide Intern Program recruitment support
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Personable, dependable team player with excellent oral, written, communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively; and to manage short-and long-term deadlines
- Comfortability with outward facing communication via phone, email, and in person (event solicitation, donor outreach, partner communication, etc.)
- Familiarity with social media platforms, Google Apps, MS Office, and Canva
- Commitment to environmental conservation, or interest in political work a plus
- Educational or professional background in public policy or environmental policy a plus
- Reliable transportation, a cell phone, and a computer are required for this position; work will be remote as well as at least one day a week spent in our office in Hamilton New Jersey; with events attended as needed
Compensation: Part-time internships are paid. Compensation is $16 an hour, for 15 hours/week. While we do not participate in internship-for-credit University programs, we are happy to confirm internship hours and provide the job description upon request. At this time, there are no employer-sponsored visa opportunities available.
