Governor Signs PJM Accountability Bill, New Jersey LCV Celebrates Major Win for Ratepayers
TRENTON, NJ – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV, regarding signing of the PJM Accountably bill today, which requires utilities to annually disclose their votes at PJM to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
"For far too long, powerful fossil fuel interests have made decisions about our energy future behind closed doors choosing costly, dirty projects over affordable clean energy. With the signing of the PJM transparency bill into law, New Jerseyans will finally have a clear view of how utilities are voting on our behalf,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “We were strong supporters of this bill from the start, working alongside our allies to ensure its passage despite opposition. We thank Governor Murphy for signing this important legislation into law, standing with ratepayers who deserve accountability, transparency, and a cleaner energy future."
