LEADING ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP SUPPORTS GOVERNOR MURPHY’S DECISION TO EXTEND NJDEP PERMIT REQUIREMENTS

Trenton – the following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, about Governor Murphy’s decision to extend beyond 90 days permit applications to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).

“As we well know, COVID-19 has upended a lot of our lives, even mundane and routine things like grocery shopping,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “It’s common sense that environmental permitting may take more time as well. We support the governors executive order to ensure that the Department has the time it needs to use the best available science and make decisions to ensure New Jersey's rigorous environmental standards are upheld to protect the health and wellbeing of New Jersey families.”
