LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP APPLAUDS PRESIDENT BIDEN ON EXECUTIVE ACTION TO ADDRESS CLIMATE, ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, AND PRESERVING 30% OF LANDS AND WATER

TRENTON – The following statement is from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on the Biden-Harris Administration moving forward and using all the power in their authority to address the four crises facing our nation: the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recession, racial injustice and the climate crisis.

“This is a big day for all of us wanting cleaner air and water, and New Jersey LCV is  thrilled. The Biden Administration’s executive actions today will slow the loss of nature, address the impacts of climate change, ensure all people have access to the natural world, and protect 30% of our lands and waters by 2030. At the heart of all of this is a commitment to environmental justice and racial equity,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “New Jerseyans can also celebrate because we now have a federal partner with whom we can  work to preserve our beautiful state and national parks for our children and grandchildren. When we look back years from now, we’ll say today was the day our government finally took climate and environmental justice seriously, and made a real commitment to do something about it.”
