LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP OPPOSES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S NEW LIMITS ON THE CLEAN WATER ACT

TRENTON - The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decision to tweak the rules on how to apply the Clean Water Act.

“The U.S. The Environmental Protection Agency is not working to protect the environment. They are acting on behalf of the fossil fuel industry,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “The Clean Water Act is a staple protection in the pursuit of protecting clean water. With this decision, the EPA, under the guidance of President Trump and the dirty fossil-fuel lobby, has forgotten what team they’re playing for. The EPA is supposed to protect our communities and environment by promoting clean air, land and water, this irresponsible decision does not do that.”
