New Jersey LCV Applauds PFAS Action by Biden Administration
TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on the Biden’s administration announcement of new requirements for chemical manufacturers to test and publicly report the amount of chemicals known as PFAS that are contained in household items like tape, nonstick pans, and stain-resistant furniture, which is the first step toward reducing their presence in drinking water.
“Earlier this year the Murphy administration established some of the strongest limits in the country to protect New Jerseyans from PFAS/PFOA chemicals, and now the rest of the nation will get the benefits of these new requirements from the Biden administration,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “Protecting residents and our clean drinking water from these ‘forever chemicals,’ which are bio-accumulative, toxic, and can lead to a myriad of health issues has long been the focus of New Jersey LCV and other advocacy groups throughout the state. It’s great to see the federal government follow New Jersey. This is what leadership looks like.”
