New Jersey LCV calls out PJM misinformation campaign, advocates for reforms to lower energy costs

Trenton, New Jersey – New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director, Ed Potosnak, has released the following statement in response to shameful attacks on Gubernatorial candidate, Mikie Sherrill, from PJM.

“It’s disappointing, but not surprising, that PJM is once again deflecting the blame for rising utility costs and protecting the billionaire oil and gas CEOs that control its activities. PJM’s failure to effectively oversee the regional electricity grid and properly connect clean energy projects is artificially driving up utility bills for working families and small businesses. Mikie Sherrill is advocating for real reforms that would bring transparency to PJM’s operations and remove obstacles that are preventing cheap, clean energy from coming online and lowering our prices. PJM would rather spend their time dodging responsibility than working to lower prices for New Jersey’s families. We’re proud to stand with Mikie Sherrill as she seeks to build a clean energy economy that provides affordable, renewable energy produced right here in New Jersey.”
