New Jersey LCV Celebrates Environmental Champions at 12th Annual Gala
Congresswoman Analilia Mejia Delivers Inspiring Keynote Address Annual Event Raises Support for Environmental Advocacy Across New Jersey
SOMERSET, NJ – New Jersey LCV welcomed donors, activists, environmental advocates, elected officials, and partners from across the state to its 12th Annual Gala on June 16 at The Palace at Somerset Park, celebrating leaders whose work is advancing environmental protection, sustainability, and community impact throughout New Jersey.
The evening featured keynote remarks from Congresswoman Analilia Mejia (CD-11), who delivered an inspiring message about the challenges and opportunities ahead and the importance of leaders who are willing to step up and fight for their communities and constituents.
The Gala serves as New Jersey LCV's premier annual fundraising event, bringing together supporters of the organization's mission to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and advance policies that protect New Jersey's air, water, open spaces, and climate.
"Each year, our Gala reminds us of the incredible power of people coming together around a shared vision for New Jersey's future," said Allison McLeod, Interim Executive Director of New Jersey LCV. "Our honorees represent the leadership, innovation, and commitment needed to build healthier communities and confront the environmental challenges facing our state. We are grateful for their service and for the supporters who make our work possible."
During the event, New Jersey LCV recognized the following honorees for their outstanding contributions:
Sustainability Award
For leadership in advancing sustainability and environmental stewardship:
- Rutgers University
Emerald Award
For extraordinary dedication to protecting New Jersey's air, water, and open spaces:
- Assemblyman William W. Spearman
- Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak
- Deputy Mayor of Neptune Township Derel M. Stroud
Changemaker Award
For making a lasting impact on communities and the environment through advocacy and leadership:
- Eastern Environmental Law Center
- Tomia MacQueen, Wildflower Farm NJ
"Last night's celebration demonstrated that people across New Jersey are ready to use their voices and their collective power to protect the future we all deserve," said Jason Krane, Chief Development Officer for New Jersey LCV. "The energy in the room was inspiring, and the support we received will help strengthen our efforts to advance environmental progress across the state."
The approximately $400,000 raised through the Gala will support New Jersey LCV's ongoing work to advance environmental policies, engage voters, and build a more sustainable and equitable future for all New Jerseyans.
