NEW JERSEY LCV EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ED POTOSNAK APPOINTED TO THE DELAWARE VALLEY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION  BOARD

TRENTON – Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, has been appointed by New Jersey Governor, Phillip Murphy, to the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) board.

The DVRPC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Greater Philadelphia region, established by an Interstate Compact between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. In New Jersey members include Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer counties, plus the cities of Camden and Trenton. City, county and state representatives work together to address key issues, including transportation, land use, environmental protection, economic development, and equity.

“I recently attended my first meeting and am extremely excited to join the commission and work on the issues I am passionate about such as improving infrastructure to reduce pollution, decarbonize transportation, and improve the health of every community,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “I was thrilled at my first meeting to have the DVRPC join the PJM Cities and Communities Coalition working to remove and prevent barriers to decarbonization in PJM,” Potosnak added. “I also want to extend a special thanks to Governor Murphy and his administration for trusting me to be a part of the effective team doing this important work.”

The DVRPC will soon have a new leader. Barry Seymour who has spent 32 years with the organization and 16 years as the Executive Director is retiring.  Ariella Maron was recently appointed as the new Executive Director.

“I want to thank Barry for his leadership and directing the DVRPC to develop a long range plan that sets goals for the region for the next 50 years. It’s a plan based on sustainability and equity, and specifically looks at climate resiliency,” added Potosnak. “I also want to congratulate Ariella Maron on her new role as Executive Director of the DVRPC. I am looking forward to working with her.”
