New Jersey LCV Invites Local Candidates to Seek Endorsement from State Environmental Leader
TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey LCV, the statewide political voice for the environment, is now accepting endorsement applications from candidates running for local offices across New Jersey.
As communities throughout the state prepare for November elections, voters will choose leaders who make critical decisions affecting flooding, drinking water, parks and open space, development, affordable clean energy, and public health. New Jersey LCV is encouraging candidates who share a commitment to protecting New Jersey’s environment and communities to apply for the organization's endorsement.
Since expanding its endorsement program to local races in 2020, New Jersey LCV has supported nearly 400 municipal and county candidates.
New Jersey LCV endorsements are awarded to candidates who demonstrate strong leadership on environmental issues and a commitment to advancing policies that protect public health, strengthen climate resilience, and preserve New Jersey's natural resources.
"At a time when environmental protections are under attack at the federal level, local leaders play an increasingly important role in protecting the places where New Jersey families live, work, and raise their children," said Allison McLeod, Interim Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. "The decisions made by mayors, council members, and county officials directly impact whether communities have clean drinking water, are prepared for flooding and extreme weather, and can access parks and open spaces. That's why these races matter.”
Candidates interested in seeking New Jersey LCV's endorsement can find additional information and application materials at our website. Please note that New Jersey LCV does not endorse in races for school board, County Sheriff, or County Surrogate.
