New Jersey LCV Responds to BPU Two Year Delay of Offshore Wind Power Transmission Infrastructure

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey LCV Executive Director Ed Potosnak issued the following statement in response to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ decision to delay offshore wind power transmission infrastructure by two years.

“While today’s BPU decision to delay offshore wind transmission infrastructure is a setback fueled by President Trump’s clean energy ban and a desire to end to all clean energy projects due to his loyalty to oil and gas billionaires, it will not stop our fight for a clean energy future in New Jersey,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “Offshore wind is critical to our clean energy portfolio and to protecting our health, environment, and economy. Every delay forces our residents—especially low-income families and communities of color—to breathe dirty air and bear the brunt of climate change. We’ve been knocked down, but we’ll keep getting back up, because the stakes are too high for us, our children, and our grandchildren. Solar and wind are the cheapest forms of energy and New Jersey deserves clean, affordable, renewable energy, and we will not stop until we achieve it."
