New Jersey LCV Statement on Governor Murphy's Denial of PennEast Pipeline

TRENTON, NJ – Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, released the following statement on the major announcement by Governor Murphy and the Department of Environmental Protection has DENIED the PennEast Pipeline:

“Today is a great day for the environment in New Jersey and it – without a doubt – showcases the commitment Governor Murphy has made to be a leader in addressing the climate crisis. With the denial of the PennEast Pipeline, Governor Murphy sends a strong and clear message to our country – New Jersey is committed to developing good local jobs in our rapidly expanding clean, renewable energy economy and the time for dirty and climate change-inducing fossil fuel expansion has passed. We applaud the Governor, the DEP, and our partners for being a national example for what climate action looks like.”

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
