Senator Richard Codey

Senator Richard James Codey is running for reelection to the New Jersey State Senate, representing District 27, which covers municipalities such as West Orange, Maplewood, and Madison.

Senator Codey is a former governor and Senate President who began his career in state government in 1973 when he was elected to the Assembly at age 26, becoming, at the time, the youngest person ever elected to the state legislature. He served four Assembly terms before being elected to the Senate in 1981. He has been re-elected 11 times. Mr. Codey became the state’s 53rd governor on Nov. 16, 2004.

Throughout his time in the legislature and as Governor, Senator Codey has always worked to protect our environment, preserve open space, and ensure New Jerseyans have access to it.

We are proud to endorse Senator Codey in the 27th District and we urge you to vote for him.
